Scans of 20 test prints sent to 12 labs. Ofoto (red dot), Shutterfly (yellow dot), and EZprints (blue dots) were finalists for best. Blue dot: autoenhance off. Double blue: autoenhance on. 30 customers ranging from pro photographers to consumers we asked to pick best and worst of each set of 4. Red bars represent votes for worst, green for best.

Chris MacAskill > Testers had trouble decideding which was worst: Ofoto's washed-out waxy complexion version or EZprints autoenhanced version (double blue) that was too red. Most people thought EZprints non-enhanced version (single blue) the most accurate, but some chose Shutterfly's warmer rendition because they thought it more flattering.
Chris MacAskill > Testers felt Jay looked good on all four but the hedge couldn't possibly be the color Ofoto and Shutterfly made it out to be.
Chris MacAskill > Testers had little taste for a black & white with a blue cast, so they gave Shutterfly and Ofoto low marks. Also, Ofoto was lacking details in the white shirt because the hightlights were blown out.
Chris MacAskill > Testers said Ofoto made them look "too pale."
Chris MacAskill > Testers felt Ofoto made the car "too orange" and they weren't happy with the color of grass in either Ofoto or Shutterfly's shot.
Chris MacAskill > Testers focused first on flesh tones and felt they all looked about the same. About half of them turned their attention to the smiley faces and felt they couldn't be orange like Ofoto made them or green like EZprints, so they chose Shutterfy. The real smiley face was yellow, even in the original shot, not the green EZprints produced.
Chris MacAskill > Testers immediately chose the Ofoto (red dot) as the single worst print not only of this set of 4, but of the whole test. They used words like "wax museum," or "cadavers." But one pro photographer chose it as best.
Chris MacAskill > I chose the Shutterfly (yellow dot) version as best because it felt warmest, but testers disagreed, saying the added yellow made the baby look jaundiced.
Chris MacAskill > Flesh tones seemed comparable to most testers, but when they noticed the color of the red sweatshirt, they gave Ofoto a severe beating.
